The festival club at the old repair shop, short films open air behind Halle 5, the information counter and the film market in the foreman’s offices, the festival café on the loading ramp, screenings and workshops in the cafeteria (Kantine), outside sunny places where you can meet guests, hang out or have a barbecue, and even a chamber of horrors! Our festival centre offers all this on the premises of the former Kolbenschmidt factory.

All festival activities that are not located in the cinemas themselves will take place on the premises. Our cinemas are just a mere five urban railway stations away at the most, there is a bus stop right in front of the gates and on a bike the zeise kinos are just a swift four minutes ride away.

During the day workshops and industry meetings will take place, at the counter our guests will get all the information they need and the festival café offers a selection of coffee, cake and beer in the sun. There will be plenty of barbecuing going on outside on the weekend and we will take out the turntables as well. In the evenings, you can chose between a Three Minute Quickie and a Swedish screening in the Kantine on the second floor. Vincent Moon will be presenting his ›Take-Away-Shows‹ as well.

After dark our open air cinema will illuminate the nights: On Friday with the sequel ›Film, Sausages and Beer 2‹, on Saturday with ›Suburbia‹ and after Sunday’s award ceremony with the newly announced winning films. And even if Hamburg’s weather should fail to mirror the usually sunny disposition of its inhabitants, the factory halls offer both sufficient space and protection from the elements. Later you can chose to either party through the night or step into the chamber of horrors, to watch the short film reel ›Something Wicked Comes at Midnight‹. We are looking forward to exploring the unique premises of our festival with our guests, before heavy industry will eventually reconquer it.
