›Station / Path.‹ ist ein nu_chterner Durchgang durch das pathologische Institut des Krankenhauses Harlaching. Der Film zeigt die routinierten Arbeitsprozesse innerhalb eines hochkomplexen Systems. Patienten durchqueren die Station, ein Weg von oben nach unten. Eine Welt der Maschinen, eine Hightech-Werkstatt und ein medizinisches Forschungslabor. Hier untersucht der fachkundig-sachliche Blick der Experten den Menschen in seinen organischen Bestandteilen. ›Station/Path.‹ wird damit auch zu einer Heterotopie unserer Gesellschaft im Umgang mit Gesundheit und Krankheit, Leben und Tod.
›Station / Path.‹ is a prosaic journey transiting the pathology ward and its routine-like work processes. Doctors meet the patients, crossing the section, a path from the up to the below. A highly complex apparatus. The scientific gaze of the experts examines the human body in its parts. A machine-world, an enclosed microcosm, a high tech factory in a medical laboratory. The pathology ward as a heterotopy of the dealing with health, sickness, life and death. The organism is being reduced to its functions. And yet one presumes a human life and fate behind numbers, cells, lines, files and the medical language. The organism is its functionality. It's the portrait of a special place and its special inhabitants, where emotion seems to have no space.
